I've been taking Thermo-Lean for some time now; I'm on my second bottle.

What I like about this product is that it's cheap and you can feel it working. You can't say that about some of the other big guy products out there!

You can pick this up for about $25 for 120 capsules and one dose is ONLY one capsule!

These guys are good. Why do they "get it" and other people don't?

At this point, I take 2 capsules and feel quite good in 20 minutes, but it tapers off around 5 hours later.

There doesn't appear to be a magic ingredient, but just a good line up of the usual goodies and high doses.

One thing they might want to work on is their packaging and their website. A lot of the site is in Flash so it's basically invisible to the search engines. They have zero pagerank and an Alexa ranking of over 9 million! Holy cow, that sucks! Do some marketing!

Arson - Legally Insane Fat-Incinerating Serum

Arson seems to be a pretty good product. I got a few samples from a health store and I was very pleased with the results.

The rush was good, fast, and strong. I see that their proprietary blend of engredients contains yohimbine, so that shows you they mean business.

But I thought it was a little weird that one does consisted of 3 capsules. Why? Of course this means you'll fly through the product much quicker. A bottle comes with 120 capsules.

One thing that sounded cool on their website was that Arson is "shown to increase noradrenaline, your key fat-burning hormone, by 40%". I'd like to try out a full bottle at the gym for a month and see what happens.

Firedrine Energy Pills Review

My latest adventures in super energy are with Firedrine by Promatrix.

I'm very happy to be back into QUALITY territory again. I got tired of trying out weaker products.

I should mention that Firedrine contains ephedra.

But this product is a bit different from some of the other ephedra-based products I've tried. Here's some of my observations:

I do NOT seem to get bad breath with Firedrine
The energy rush comes on pretty quickly and it is STRONG; I think it is stronger than most if not all the others I've tried
But it lasts a LESS amount of time; it seems that I crash around 1pm if I take it at 7am; the strongest point is around 10am, but I usually feel it kicking in by 7:30am
My kidneys hurt!! They're fine now, but the first 2 or 3 weeks were a little annoying; I just made sure to drink lots of water and/or cranberry juice; don't want any stones!
Enlarged prostrate: yup, I never brought that up with the other products, but it happens. Makes it hard to go #1 and #2.

They say not to take more than 2 per day and to take a 2 to 4 week break after taking it for a month. Today has been 4 weeks for me. There's 100 capsules so I have lots left.

The ingredients appear to be the usual stuff.

I like it. To me it's worth it, but I scare myself sometimes.

Hydroxycut Hardcore

I might make some enemies with this post.

I finally got around to trying Hydroxycut after having tried it back in something like 2000.

This time I jumped right to the "Hardcore" version, because...hey! It should be stronger, right?

Oh man, what a disappointment.

You would think that since the capsules are filled with liquid instead of powder, you'd get a huge rush really fast, right? Wrong.

Ok, maybe I'd feel something quicker, but you have to take about 3 capsules before you even begin to feel anything! Of course, that makes you fly through your stock much faster.

YES, THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE SWEAR BY THIS COMPANY AND PRODUCT. Yes, they have lots of testimonials. Yes, they make millions of dollars. Yes, someone is going hate me for not liking this product, but que sera sera.

As their website shows, people are losing weight with this product, and it's the #1 energy pill in the U.S. But I need something stronger. Tant pis.

Trimspa Energy! ElectraSPA Energy Blend

A lot of people are big fans of Trimspa.

I guess Anna Nicole Smith helped their company gain a lot of attention. But didn't Howard Stern used to promote them too?

Anyway, I finally tried this product, which I bought at Walmart. Now, I don't know if it's a coincidence, but I also got a stomach ache with it too (see previous posts).

It wore off after a couple weeks (my stomach problem) and I got to get a feel for Trimspa a little better. As far as energy pills go, it didn't really impress me that much. It just seems to be geared for beginners. It really didn't do too much for me by way of energy.

Plus, it's a HUGE pill that's not always easy to swallow. This bottle only came with 45 tablets and it suggests that you take 4 of them per day. Hmmm.

I'd list the ingredients and levels of potency for you, but why bother....

They have other products that may be worth trying, so don't write them off yet.

Zantrex-3

Zantrex-3 is a bit of a lower-priced thermogenic. You can buy it at Wal-Mart and GNC Nutrition.

It was weird because I'm very accustomed to energy pills but this one gave me a stomach ache for the first week or two. After that I was fine.

The energy boost was enough to get you by. It OK.

Some of their ingredients are as follows:

coffee bean powder
niacin
yerba mate
guarana
green tea
kola nut
piper nigrum
ginseng
black tea

I'd say it's worth a try if you want to pick up something like this during your next trip to Wal-Mart.

Atro-Phex

I got some Atro-Phex from BSN a while back and now I want some more.

Atro-Phex is basically your normal thermogenic energy pill, but it sort of screams "quality". The packaging is top notch. It's hard to put into words, but you know when hold some cheap product and it feels cheap? Well, Atro-Phex doesn't feel that way. It's sturdy.

BSN is doing something right. I was taking it around the same time that I had a huge tolerance to energy products, and I STILL got a rush from Atro-Phex. It's got some good potent stuff in there.

You'll see plenty mentioned about their propietary blends and studies of such-and-such compound and its effects on the body & mind, etc. Sounds like they know what they're talking about.

Thermo Burst

I was able to get a few samples of Thermo Burst and I was quite happy with the results.

I got a noticable jump in energy and so right then and there, I knew Thermo Burst was a better than average energy pill.

It comes with niacin, yerba mate, guarana seed extract, black tea leaves extract, ginger root extract, and more.

UPDATE: I'm not sure what's going on, but I bought a whole bottle of ThermoBurst and I have not been so happy with it.

First off, the pills TASTE TERRIBLE. You pop one in and after swallowing, it leaves the worst taste in your mouth that's hard to get rid of. Next, if you leave the pill in there for too long before swigging some water, the pill almost gives you a burning sensation. Yuck!

The stuff comes from GNC only, and it's basically a low-tier product for less than $20. It's weaker stuff with a small dosage of ingredients, so you won't get SUPER results from it. I guess that the pills I took earlier in this review were either better quality, or I was just "energy free" for a few days before trying them.

To give you an idea, one pill contains only 6.67mg of niacin. It's got all the other usual stuff, but just in low doses.

Anyway, it's FINE, but I wish they'd encase the stuff in a normal capsule so I wouldn't have to taste it. Blah!

Redline by VPX

Redline is an amazing product.

First, I got hooked using their $4-$5 drink. It gives an amazing rush, which a lot of people said was caused by the Yohimbine.

I graduated to the their concentrated "syrup", which I'm mainly writing about at this moment. I have never tried their capsules, but I want to!

I'm just assuming that their syrup version is pretty much similar to the pills, yet I'd expect that the concentrated liquid would get into your system faster than the pills.

The Redline syrup works great, gets you feeling energized for a workout fairly quickly, but it tastes terrible, of course.

It's so much like medicine, but if you have some other drink you can swigg right away, it's not too bad.

Just don't carry it around with you in a bag that will get banged around a lot; the liquid starts to seep out no matter how hard you try to stop it. It doesn't necessarily "leak", but each time you pour it out, a little stays on the outside. And then more, and more, and more. Sticky messes ensue.

Ingredients are caffeine, evoburn, n-acetyl-L-tyrosine, guggulsterone, yerbe mate, green tea, vinpocetine, yohimbine....and only 9 calories!

Anyway, you really should check them out and try the product that's best for you. The drink, the syrup, or the pills. Redline is one top-notch product line.

Lipo Cutts

Right now I'm trying out Lipo Cutts by the same guys that do Therma Cutts, Scientifik Athletika.

It's the more expensive product, so I was told it would provide the same results (super-high energy, weight loss, etc) as ThermaBurn (also reviewed here, but by a different company) but I'm not so sure it does.

In fact, I'm not even sure it's as good as Therma Cutts!

Look at the ingredients:

Therma Cutts (cheaper, but high-potent energy)
Ma Huang: 350mg (ephedra)
Kola Nut: 350mg
Chromium Picolinate: 200mg
Ginger Root: 25mg
White Willow Bark: 25mg

Here's Lipo Cutts (more expensive, yet low-potency)
Ma Huang: 300mg (ephedra)
Caffeine: 200mg
Garcinia Cambogia: 200mg
Yerba Mate: 100mg
Citris Aurantium: 100mg
L-Tyrosine: 100mg
White Willow Bark: 60mg
Ginger Root: 50mg
Cayenne: 50mg
DMAE: 50mg
Chromium Picolinate: 200mg
Acetyl L-Carnitine: 50mg

I wish I still had my bottle of Therma Burn so I could compare that too.

But as you can see, it has an impressive line up of ingredients. There are definitely more items here than in Therma Cutts, so why do I feel like Therma is better than Lipo??

The only thing Therma has that Lipo doesn't is kola nut, which is basically the same
thing as caffeine (see wikipedia).

I have even taken 2 or 3 pills in one day just to give me the same "feel" as Therma
Cutts. Very strange. Maybe I built up an immunity? But I doubt it.

I won't accuse them of skimping on the key ingredients. But who can ask them anyway? They're so hard to contact. Again, the only way I can see to contact them is the address on the bottle that I mention in my previous post; no website URL for these guys!

Did I waste my money?

Therma Cutts

Therma Cutts is just like Therma Burn, which I reviewed down below.

It appears to have the same ingredients, which I'll touch on in a second.

This product is so darn strong; I don't know of any that is as strong as this. The cool thing about it is that it contains Ma Huang (350mg), standardized to 8% ephedrine.

Sometimes I think it's TOO strong. I still have never taken 2 capsules at once...even though I'm a bit accustomed to it now.

Some other ingredients:

Kola Nut 350mg, standardized to 10% caffeine
Ginger Root
White Willow Bark
Chromium Picolinate

It's made by Scientifik Athletika which appears to want to stay under the radar; I still can't find anything on these guys. The only lead I have is their address on the bottle: Bellwood, PA 16617.

I bought this at Wal-Mart.

It's pretty ok and I was happy to find it, because it has Ephedrine in it. Ephedrine was allowed back for a little while in 2006, so you can sometimes find some older products that contain 8mg of the stuff.

It's made by Abundance Marketing Ltd and can be found at abundancehealth.com. Even though ephedra has been re-banned in Canada, you can still find Proenzi99 on their website, but not in Wal-Mart. Strange that they're still selling it online; they say it's "one of the few that has been approved as a safe and effective treatment for nasal decongestion".

It's got a ton of ingredients that really make this a winning product; there's so much good stuff in it, I can't even begin to list them.

The rush was good and the price was good; $17.95 is darn good for a product that actually works.

Since the 2nd ban on ephedrine, they have the "ephedra free" version in Wal-Marts. It's also got a ton of those ingredients like I said, but it doesn't pack the same punch. I usually will just combine it with some other energy product just to get a little extra kick.

Give them a try.

You can see Stacker products all over the place.

I have tried their caffinated mints, their amazing-tasting Stinger drinks & shots (small drinks), and now their pills (which I bought at Wal-Mart).

They work pretty well. I went through all 60 capsules and each time, the rush was quite good. I usually mix them with guarana pills or ephedrine pills, if I can find them. Sometimes I mix them with an energy drink too, just to get that extra "oomph".

Stacker2 is a likable brand too. They do a good job getting their product to market.

These pills contain kola nut, yerba mate, caffeine, green tea, white willow bark, etc. It's got a few other items that help with weight loss, so it's marketed to be a weight loss formula.

I have tried so many thermogenic supplements over the past few years. Many of them are good, or least they start out good.

But you eventually get used to them and end up taking a little bit more as an experiment. But I never got to that point with ThermaBurn by BioLean. One capsule was always enough to get me buzzing with energy.

I guess I was too scared to take 2 capsules at once since the energy was always so strong. I was quite happy to live with one capsule per day until the bottle was done. That's how good this stuff is.

I do remember always being hot when I took ThermaBurn...a good sign that it was working. Sometimes I'd shake, especially when I combined one pill with a can of an energy drink. All in all, this is probably the best supplement I've ever tried, and I've tried quite a few. More on that later.

ThermaBurn comes with 350mg of Ma Huang, which is the same as ephedrine. It contains kola nut, standardized to 50% caffeine. It also has ginger, white willow bark, and something called chromium picolinate.
